Ashok Dham Temple
Ashok Dham is a famous temple dedicated to Lord Shiva located in the Lakhisarai district of Bihar. It is believed that a shepherd named Ashok used to go daily to graze cows. One day while playing Gilli-danda, he saw a huge Shivling lying inside the earth. He tried to uproot the Shivling. But he could not move her even the slightest. Since this temple was constructed in the same place, since then the name of this temple has been changed to Ashok Dham Mandir. Shankaracharya of Jagannath Puri inaugurated the reconstruction of the temple complex. Devotees in large numbers in this temple during the month of Shivaratri and Sawan. are gathered. Along with religious rituals, this temple is also very popular for the Mundan ceremony.
